In Memoriam: Gregory “Greg” Morris
ILMA mourns the passing of Gregory “Greg” Seabury Morris, a respected lubricants industry professional and longtime leader at Pinnacle Oil. Morris passed away on October 18, 2026, at the age of 49.
A graduate of Wittenberg University, Morris joined his family’s business, Pinnacle Oil, in 2005 as sales manager. From 2012 to 2014, he worked at Heritage-Crystal Clean, where he was responsible for selling base oil produced at the company’s Indianapolis refinery.
Morris returned to Pinnacle Oil in 2014, where his responsibilities expanded over the years to include base oil procurement in addition to overseeing sales. He most recently served as executive vice president and was a key contributor to the company’s growth and success. Proud of his family’s business and its legacy, Morris was known for his ability to turn customers into friends, building lasting relationships that were important to him both personally and professionally.
Beyond his professional accomplishments, Morris had a passion for adventure and the outdoors. An avid traveler, fisherman and sports enthusiast, he enjoyed everything from diving with whale sharks to skiing and coaching youth hockey. He especially cherished time spent at Crystal Lake, where generations of family traditions and lifelong friendships were formed.
Above all, Morris was a devoted husband and father. He shared a lifelong partnership with his wife, Sara, his high school sweetheart, and treasured every opportunity to make memories with their two sons, Bauer and Brooks.
Morris is survived by his wife, Sara; sons, Bauer and Brooks; parents, Weezie and Kimball Morris; brothers, Kent Morris (Jen) and Robbie Morris (Meghan); sister, Lindsey Gutman (Marc); and many beloved nieces and nephews.
ILMA extends its heartfelt condolences to Morris’ family, friends and colleagues. His contributions and the relationships he built throughout his life will be fondly remembered by all who knew him.
Celebration of Life
A celebration of life will be held November 28, from 1 to 4 p.m., at The Heirloom in Indianapolis, with another gathering planned at Crystal Lake next summer.
The family asks those attending the celebration of life to bring a brief written note sharing a favorite memory of Greg. These remembrances will be compiled into a keepsake book for his sons, Bauer and Brooks.
Memorial Donations
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to Learn to Play, a youth hockey program Morris supported.
