The ILMA Foundation and the National Lubricating Grease Institute have each donated to the Northwest Illinois Chapter of the American Red Cross in appreciation for its support of residents and first responders affected by the fire at the Chemtool plant in Rockton, Illinois, on June 14. Chemtool’s parent company, Lubrizol, is a member of both ILMA and NLGI.
“Chemtool has been a member of the ILMA community for 25 years. We are grateful for the work of the Red Cross in supporting Chemtool’s own surrounding community, as the company, its employees and the town work toward recovery,” said ILMA CEO Holly Alfano.
“We are thankful to the American Red Cross for their instant support to the first responders and residents of the Rockton community,” added Crystal O’Halloran, NLGI Executive Director. “They provided immediate care, including aid to approximately 200 first responders as well as overnight shelter for evacuated residents.”
Red Cross volunteers delivered shelter, food, water and disaster support to Rockton residents affected by a mandatory evacuation order, as well as to first responders battling the fire. NLGI and ILMA’s donations will help replenish funds spent in the Rockton community relief effort as well as funding future disaster relief efforts.
