James P. Carroll, executive vice president of Schaeffer Manufacturing Co. in St. Louis, Missouri, today assumed the presidency of the Independent Lubricant Manufacturers Association (ILMA). He succeeds Richard Camper, executive vice president of Pacific Precision Formulators and Hasco Oil. The transition took place during the 2025 ILMA Annual Meeting at the Boca Raton.
Carroll began working in technical support with Schaeffer in 1998 and assumed his current role in 2018. He was elected to ILMA’s board of directors in 2020 and currently chairs the association’s Engine & Transmission Committee.
A native of St. Louis, Carroll is a retired colonel in the United States Army and a highly decorated combat veteran. He served tours in Iraq and Afghanistan.
“Jim listens, and when he says something, you should listen,” said Camper. “ILMA is in great hands.”
“Lubricants rarely make the headlines, but without our products, much of the machinery of modern life would grind to a halt,” Carroll told those gathered for the ILMA President’s Dinner.
