Committee: Global Affairs and Trade

Results

On 8 May, the European Commission launched a public consultation (open until 10 June) to gather feedback on the impact of US tariffs on European goods and on the proposed list of US products that could be subject to EU counter-tariffs. Base oils are not included, but certain lubricant products, and particularly additives, may be subject to tariffs if negotiations with the US are not satisfactory. As additives play a critical role in the formulation of lubricants and their inclusion could disrupt the industry, weaken the EU’s competitiveness, and impose higher costs on consumers, UEIL will reply to the consultation. UEIL Members are also encouraged to do the same to strengthen our collective position.

Given that the tariff situation is front and center for ILMA members, Andras Koppanyi of McGriff wanted to share this webinar from Marsh McLennan with committee members.
