The Lubricant Packaging Management Association (LPMA), a nonprofit organization created to help lubricant brand owners comply with packaging extended producer responsibility (EPR) laws, has been working to establish a program to recycle petroleum and automotive products in Oregon. The state’s Department of Environmental Quality has just requested LPMA’s collection plan for petroleum packaging by April 24, 2025. The plan must include an updated list of registrants in the LPMA program.
ILMA members that wish to be included in the Oregon plan should send their signed agreements by 5pm ET this Thursday, April 24. ILMA General Counsel Jeff Leiter notes that members should carefully review the definition of “Producer” in Section M of the agreement.
“Participating in LPMA’s collection plan not only ensures a positive environmental outcome—it may also reduce your overall program fees,” noted Mark Carpenter, director of membership services for LPMA.
